Installation must comply with municipal and provincial standards for residential pool safety.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hausarbeiten-schreiben.com\/seminararbeit-schreiben\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">seminararbeit schreiben lassen<\/a><br \/>\nSince August 9, 2023, it has been\u00a0<strong>mandatory to install a water meter<\/strong>\u00a0when installing an above-ground or in-ground pool. The owner must purchase the water meter and all accessories required for its installation at his or her own expense. The water meter must comply with the specifications detailed in Appendix F of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bromont.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/R-1116-2022-Codification.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">regulation 1116-2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Regulatory provisions for swimming pools and their accessories (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bromont.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/R-1037-2017-Codification.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zoning by-law<\/a>art. 108)<\/h3>\n<p>The pool must comply with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mamh.gouv.qc.ca\/ministere\/securite-des-piscines-residentielles\/mesures-de-securite\/?g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">provincial standards<\/a>\u00a0safety.<br \/>\n\u2666 Not to be located under a power supply line.<br \/>\n\u2666 A distance of at least 1 m must be left clear between a safety fence.<br \/>\n\u2666 The power supply for a pool lighting source must be underground.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pool access control<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u2666 All swimming pools must be equipped with a ladder or staircase for getting in and out of the water.<br \/>\n\u2666 Every swimming pool must be surrounded by an enclosure so as to protect access. The enclosure must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>prevent the passage of a spherical object 10 cm in diameter<\/li>\n<li>be at least 1.2 m high<\/li>\n<li>be free of any fastener, projection or openwork that could facilitate climbing<br \/>\nNote: A wall forming part of an enclosure must not have any opening allowing access into the enclosure.<\/li>\n<li>A hedge or shrubbery cannot form an enclosure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2666 Door in an enclosure:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>same characteristics as described for the speaker<\/li>\n<li>passive safety device installed on the inside of the enclosure, in the upper part of the door<\/li>\n<li>should close and lock automatically<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2666 The speaker is not required in the following situations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>above-ground pool with a wall height of at least 1.2 m above ground at all points<\/li>\n<li>demountable pool with a wall height of 1.4 m or more<\/li>\n<li>Access to the pool is gained in one of the following ways:\n<ul>\n<li>Ladder equipped with a safety door that closes and locks automatically<\/li>\n<li>Ladder or platform with access protected by an enclosure<\/li>\n<li>Terrace attached to the residence opening onto the swimming pool and protected by an enclosure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Equipment and accessories<br \/>\n\u2666\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0All pool-related equipment must be installed more than 1 m from the wall or, as the case may be, the enclosure.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The pipes connecting the appliance to the pool must be flexible and must not be installed in such a way as to facilitate access to the pool.<\/li>\n<li>A device may be located less than 1 m from the pool or enclosure if it is: inside an enclosure having the characteristics described above, under a structure that prevents access to the pool from the device, and if this structure is at least 1.2 m high and has no fasteners, projections or openwork that could facilitate climbing, or in a shed.<br \/>\nExcerpt from Zoning By-law 1037-2017 available on bromont.com and the Government of Quebec's Regulation respecting the safety of residential swimming pools.<br \/>\nUpdated: June 2017<br \/>\nRegulatory provisions for swimming pools and their accessories on land occupied by the \"residential\" use group<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2666 Do not place the pool under Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec overhead wires<br \/>\n\u2666\u00a0<a class=\"is-external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hydroquebec.com\/securite\/piscine.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Check the conformity of your installation<\/a>\u00a0in relation to overhead power supply wires<br \/>\n\u2666 Other servitudes (right-of-way, road easements, etc.) may exist on your land.
